There are few dress styles more timeless and feminine than the classic fit and flare, and as such, I knew I had to include one in the first launch of Building Blocks. The Rosalind channels the 1950s with a voluminous skirt (sans the crinoline petticoat, of course) and scoop neck, but its understated design and airy double gauze fabric firmly ground the dress in this century. It took a few tries for me to get the neckline and the shoulder straps exactly what I wanted them to be — wide and low enough to be dramatic, but not so much that you were constantly having to adjust anything. The result is a dress that's as happy worn inside with a cardigan at the office as it is worn outside with a sunhat at the farmers market.

This dress is made of organic cotton double gauze from India. Composed of two layers of gauze that have been tacked together, double gauze is unbelievably soft and breathable. It is light and airy and one of those fabrics that, like linen, is wrinkle-prone, but that's part of what makes it so great — even the first time you wear it, double gauze feels soft and rumpled and worn in, and it only gets softer with repeated washes and wears.
The dress is lined with organic cotton batiste from India. Soft, sturdy, and lightweight, batiste is the perfect lightweight liner for summer garments.
In addition to the fabric, this dress uses organic cotton thread, a YKK zipper, organic cotton bias tape, one hook and eye, and organic cotton labels.

The Rosalind is fitted in the bust and waist, so I suggest using both of those measurements when determining your size. The style runs true to size, but if your measurements fall in between sizes, I recommend sizing up.
Anna is wearing a size Small and is 5'8" with a 33" bust, 27" waist, and 42" hip.
