The shirtwaist dress came into popularity in the 1940s, which means we're coming up on its 80th anniversary. It's crazy to think that a style invented so long ago is still such a timeless staple today— flattering, practical, and deceptively simple.
The shirtwaist style has been with Margu since our launch in 2016, and has been featured in some way or another in almost every season since then. This season's Poplar Dress takes our classic shirtwaist dress pattern and dresses it up in polka-dot Japanese linen. Here's to yet another 80 years!

This dress is made of flax linen fabric woven in Japan. Crisp and lightweight with a fine weave, it is a true navy blue with light grey dots scattered about.
The dress is lined with GOTS-certified organic cotton voile milled in India. Lightweight and airy, the lining creates a soft, breathable layer against your skin.

The Poplar Dress is fitted in the bust and the waist and free in the hips, so use both your bust and waist measurements when determining your size. This dress runs true to size, but if you fall in between sizes, I recommend sizing up.
